Today’s episode is all about recording and podcasting. I discuss types of microphones, pick up patterns, types of audio connectors, different audio filetypes, (Uncompressed, lossless, and lossy) mixers, preamps, headsets like the ones from Plantronics and Logitech, editing software, (Audacity, GarageBand, Adobe Audition, Logic, Cakewalk Studio, Pro Tools, etc.) sites for hosting your own online call in talk show like Talkshoe and Blog Talk Radio, programs for pulling in audio from various sources like Audio Hijack Pro and Skype Call Recorder (You can find versions out there on different platforms like Mac and Windows) as well as Wiretap Studio for recording/editing audio nondestructively, programs like Switch for converting and Levelator for equalizing, sites for podcasting from your mobile devices like Audioboo and Spreaker, hosting with sites like Libsyn, wordpress plugins for podcasting, (Podpress, Podlove, Blubrry PowerPress, etc.) Tagr for editing file tags and artwork, and I’d like to recommend a podcast about podcasting – The School of Podcasting’s Morning Announcements.
